The problem

Generative AI is rewriting which work gets done by software and which work still needs a human. The shift is not even, not predictable, and not waiting for anyone to catch up. Some occupations are seeing entire task categories collapse into a single API call; others are reshaped one workflow at a time. The aggregate effect is the same: a lot of professionals are quietly looking around and realizing the role they trained for is not the role that will exist in five years.

That moment is the Jobpocalypse. It is not a single event; it is the slow, uneven recomposition of work as AI absorbs the parts of a job that were never the human-interesting parts to begin with.

Why this exists

Pathfinder AI was built for the people whose roles are being squeezed by that shift, and for the people who do not want to wait until layoff day to start moving. Looking for a new job has always been mechanical, repetitive, and emotionally draining. AI-driven displacement makes it worse: more candidates competing, more roles changing shape mid-search, more applications needed to land an offer. The old playbook (open LinkedIn at 7 AM, scroll for an hour, hand-edit a resume, stare at a cover letter) does not scale to that volume.

So Pathfinder runs the mechanical parts in the background. Six agents read every posting, score the matches, draft tailored documents, and dispatch a daily digest before you wake up. The judgment, decisions, and conversations stay with you. The hour of scrolling does not.

Pathfinder AI is operated by the same independent project as Jobpocalypse, the AI Overlap Index that scores how much of every US occupation overlaps with what current-generation AI can already do. How it's run

Independent. Self-funded. No venture capital, no growth-at-all-costs incentives.

We keep our operating model honest: the product has to actually work for the people paying for it, because there is no one else paying the bills.

The infrastructure runs on a dedicated server in the US, with a Postgres database for state and Stripe for billing. Cost discipline is intentional: the lower the run rate, the more we can prioritize what matters to users over what matters to a fundraising deck.
